    LGBT+ Pride isn’t just for city folk. Pride is for all, as grassroots organisers from towns and islands told PinkNews. In the summer of 2019, around 200 people marched through Yeovil, South Somerset in the town’s first ever Pride march.

    The Stonewall Riots started on 28 June 1969 in New York City, with Pride events happening in cities across the US to mark the first anniversary. Pride arrived in the UK for the first time in 1972 in London. So we just wanted to send you a note to let you know (or remind you) that today marks the 52nd anniversary of that pivotal moment in the fight for LGBT+ equality and the start of the global Pride movement.     Yeovil Pride organisers optimistic about festival’s return this summer – ITV News

    The organisers of Yeovil Pride 2021 are optimistic the event will go ahead this summer. Providing coronavirus guidance allows, the weekend of LGBT+ celebrations will take place on Saturday 21 August and Sunday 22 August.
