Open Letter: We need your help now.

In 1972, a movement arrived to the UK for the first time. This year, Prides across Great Britain and Northern Ireland will celebrate 50 years since the very first Pride march in London.

We are so proud of where Yeovil Pride has got to in our own journey of celebrating our LGBT+ community.

Since 2019, we’ve celebrated Pride in the heart of the West Country, providing a moment for all to come together and to unite our voices in calling for further queer liberation – especially for our trans and non-binary siblings.

But Pride doesn’t belong to a group, and as co-chairs of this wonderful organisation, we are but the temporary guardians of this event.

What we need, more than ever this year, is you – Members of the LGBT+ community, and our allies – to step up to the plate and help us put on Yeovil Pride 2022.

Whether you’re a local business wanting to show your staff and customers that you support them and their identity, or want to volunteer as part of the team to help make this year’s celebrations a success, we need you!

Without your help, this year’s celebration in Yeovil won’t happen. So please, get in touch, get involved and help us mark this iconic moment in British LGBT+ history.

Olivia Webb (she/her) & JK Doran (he/him)
Co-Chairs of Yeovil Pride
